Some more about me…
I'm a curious traveler who loves fun hair colors (I've tried almost every shade of the rainbow). I have a passion for UX writing, with special care for accessibility. I'm a big hockey fan (and supporter!), but a total novice at skating. I enjoy movies, books, and music, especially when my friends let me over-analyze everything about them!
I have an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, mostly because I enjoyed problem-solving. From there, I joined the tech team at GED Testing Service and became a Business Analyst (solving more problems), and then joined GED’s burgeoning UX team, where I started my design career. I trained under a Web Designer and a UX Researcher, and grew to love learning about how users “failed” on the platforms I designed for (learning what problems they needed me to solve!).
In my time at GED, I’ve started a graduate program at Minneapolis College of Art and Design for Graphic and Web Design, a GED book club (or two), and hosted a few team building events–the most notorious being a Hot Ones style “ranking” event, in which the most surprising part was how many Minnesotans wanted to participate, considering we’re notoriously low-spice tolerance!
